An MT940 is a standard structured SWIFT Customer Statement message i.e. an electronic bank account statement which has been developed by SWIFT.
To successfully import MT940 data files some information is needed in the Excel Toolbar:
- Mapping information of the MT940 file in the Parameters worksheet defined
- the actual MT940 file to be processed
- The result will be written in to the SwiftTransaction worksheet.
Import is started by selecting Import mt940 from Open command menu, Figure 41. That opens the Open Report dialogue, Figure 50.
If the MT940 file is not visible in the Open Report dialogue, insert “*” (i.e. an asterisk) as the filename and press <ENTER>.
Open Reports dialogue.
Then correct file should be seen on the file list and can be opened.
Next the define settings dialogue is opened, Figure 43. After that the Datasheet Special Settings dialogue can be filled and closed. Then data is imported to the excel. Once the data is shown in excel the Refresh button needs to be pressed to process the data according to rules set in the Parameters worksheet.
Once the data is successfully processed the following summary dialogue, Figure 56, is shown.
